Sd.Kfz.182 Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf.B 'King Tiger' - 3. /s.SS-Pz.Abt. 501

After some time I'm back with a new model. A little history and some facts first:

During 28 December 1944 and 12 January 1945 the 1. SS-Panzer-Division "LSSAH" saw action in the Bastogne area [Ardennes - Belgium]

The King Tigers from the schwere SS-Panzer-Abteilung 501 were attached to the northern kampfgruppe under the command of SS-Sturmbannführer Werner Poetschke [Commander of SS-Panzer-Regiment 1 "LSSAH'].

This model represents King Tiger '312' from the 3. /s.SS-Pz.Abt. 501 under the command of SS-Oberscharführer Heinrich Ritter and was knocked out on 7 January 1945 at Goronne by the 628th Tank Destroyer Batallion. I'll try to show the King Tiger just before it was taken out.

Here is a  picture from King Tiger '312' after it was knocked out. On top of the King Tiger are soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division.
You can clearly see it has received a whitewash.

The same picture and a second one can be found in the excellent "Duel In The Mist 3' by Timm Haasler, Simon Vosters & Hans Weber published by Panzerwrecks

The kit I used is the Dragon - Cyberhobby Kingtiger Henschel Turret (6662)

Here are the first pictures:
